10 Mistakes in Using a Water Flosser! Incorrect Use Equals Tooth Damage!!

1.Using Ice Water or Hot Water

You should use warm water for flossing. When your gums feel uncomfortable, you can mix the water 1:1 with mouthwash for cleaning and care.

2.Beginners Using Strong Mode

Beginners should not start with the strong mode as it can cause water swallowing or mis-spraying. Start with the gentle mode.

3.Aiming Directly at the Gums

You should lean your body forward and keep your mouth slightly closed to avoid water splashing all over.

4.Continuing to Floss with Bleeding Gums

If you have bleeding gums after two consecutive days of use, stop using the flosser and see a doctor immediately.

5.Only Flossing the Opposite Teeth

The nozzle should be perpendicular to the interdental spaces, moving slowly from one side of the gum line to the other, pausing for about 2 seconds. Floss from one side to the other (upper teeth in an M shape, lower teeth in a W shape).

6.Flossing for Too Long

Each use should be around 2 minutes.

7.Flossing 6-7 Times a Day

More frequent use is not better. It should be used once a day after meals.

8.Not Brushing Teeth After Flossing

A water flosser brushing teeth, so remember to brush your teeth after flossing.

9.Not Cleaning the Nozzle After Use

Personal oral hygiene is very important. Be sure to clean or replace the nozzle regularly.

10.Using the Same Nozzle for Too Long Without Replacing
